Online Geometry Workshop: Flatland Seminar
Long a favorite of Michael Waski's Seminar repertoire, this novella, Flatland, can serve as a basis for many discussions about dimensions as they arise in an adolescent math classroom and is a great touchstone for these key ideas.

Course content:
Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions is a short novella written in 1884 by Edwin A. Abbott as a satire of the social and class structure of Victorian England, while simultaneously being a mathematical treatise on the idea of properties of different dimensions.
The book can serve as a basis for many discussions about dimensions as they arise in an adolescent math classroom and is a great touchstone for these key ideas.
Over the next four sessions, we will be reading through and discussing the book from both mathematical and a literature perspective. Participants will need to have their own copy (Less than $3.00 on Amazon) and will need to read the required chapters before each session.
