Online Geometry Workshop: Measurement

Schedule: 4-sessions, Meeting Tuesday and Thursday on Zoom for 2 weeks for one-hour live sessions with Michael Waski

Cost: $175

This online workshop will be an intense four week discussion on the pillars of measurement: perimeter, area, volume, and similarity.

• Course length: 3 weeks   
• Webinar dates: July 21, July   23, July 28, July 30, Aug 4, Aug 6; All at 8:00am ET-US      

Please note: Workshop will be cancelled if does not meet minimum requirement of 5 paricipants.

Course content:   

Session 1: Perimeter:  perimeter as concept, pi and circumference, the Pythagorean theorem   

Session 2: Area: area as concept, progress through area of all polygons to the circle   

Session 3: Volume: volume as concept, spatial recognition, activities, naming solids, surface area,volume of prisms & pyramids  

Session 4: Similarity: similarity through ratio and proportions: 1D, 2D, 3D      

Format: 4 live-webinars with lesson instruction, then optional independent work and videos. (All webinars will be recorded and shared with participants.)

Tuesday, call-in for first 1-hr live session webinar

Friday-Monday, watch assigned videos and read assigned chapters from Geometry book (optional)   

Tuesday, call-in for 3rd 1-hr live session webinar   

Thursday, call-in for final 1-hr live session webinar      

Optional Help Desk: Michael available for 30 min/2x week for questions.   

Certificates of Completion will be emailed to the participants at the conclusion of the workshop (16 hours)
