Series Content:

Session 1: General Principles

This is the big vision of what we want to accomplish and why. It will be our guiding principle with all our work moving forward.

Session 2: Components of a Classroom

Here we’ll break down and talk in detail about the main components that should be present in a Montessori classroom. We’ll talk about how each of them works, what they add to the classroom, and talk about implementation strategies for these.

Session 3: Examining Content Models

This session will examine different ways to think about math content – what to include and emphasize, the organization, sequencing, and flow. We’ll look at several different models of organizations and talk about the advantages and challenges of each.

Session 4: Making it Yours

Special Guest Jesse Gevirtz from Austin Montessori discusses the progression of his adolescent program and how he has adapted The Math Institute to fit his environment.

Session 5: Resources and Frequently Asked Questions

We cover the resources found in our environment and answer frequently asked questions we have had from past years of running this workshop.
